I take bus line 6 from the nearest bus stop straight through the city where I live, and I'm getting off at the shopping center on the other side of town. I'm starting at my usual westbound spot just after a traffic square.
One hour and four rides later I've done 85 km and destination reached. Not more than 40 cars have passed me while "waiting" (quite an overstatement for what I was doing there).
Few days later time to get back, a friend gives a lift up to the motorway, at Grimbergen I'm away after 30 minutes to Namur, which isn't the direct way, in stead of that, it is an indirect way. Another stretch of Belgian motorway that I'd never seen before. Namur ramp 13 at A4 is extremely easy to get away, at least to Liege or Bruxelles. 2 minutes. Driver dropped me at my usual spot in Liege to get to Maastricht, the start of motorway E25 to the north at Droixhe-Bressoux and pretty soon I get lifted by a Liegeois guy who's going to the famous Missisippi coffeeboat in the center of my town.
